Group history

  • 1910: Creation of LA NITROGENE FRANCAISE, on the site of PLANET in the South of France, whose goal is the manufacture of chemical fertilizers for the region.
  • 1945: LA NITROGENE FRANCAISE becomes SOCIETE ELECTRO METALLURGIQUE DU PLANET (SEMP), and specializes in the manufacture of Calcium and Magnesium.
  • 1953: WATTOHM incorporates the Planet site, enters the field of extrusion and manufactures the first French rigid PVC profile.
  • 1962: Start of soft PVC extrusion: creation of the first door strips.
  • 1967: WATTHOM becomes PLANET-WATTOHM, manufacturer of plastic products (industrial ventilation, siding, paneling, profiles, ...). Several brands are created to identify the different competence fields of PLANET-WATTOHM. The soft PVC business unit is named  EXTRUFLEX.
  • 1990: FONTENAY INDUSTRY acquires EXTRUFLEX and PLANET.
  • 1997: FONTENAY INDUSTRY transfers their soft PVC part to SN EXTRUFLEX.
  • 1998: Acquisition of EUROFLEX.
  • 1999: Acquisition of the PVC Business Unit of BENEKE-KALIKO.
  • 2002: Acquisition of POWERKIT
  • 2004: Creation of EXTRUFLEX Zong Shan (China).
  • 2005: Acquisition of the soft PVC Division of KAUTEX.
  • 2010: Creation of EXTRUFLEX NORTH AMERICA (USA)
  • 2011: Creation of EXTRUFLEX DO BRASIL (Brazil)
