The SCREENFLEX® fire protection
Skin protection against fire
Welding arcs generate sparks and molten projectiles, which can burn unprotected skin and cause fires.
The objective of SCREENFLEX® strips is to limit the spread of flame when a fire breaks out by accident. They protect against flames and projections of small drops of molten metal coming from welding or cutting. In addition, the strips protect against the effects of radiation and convection heat.
Like protection standards for flame retardant clothing worn by welders (EN531 & EN532), the EN 1598/A1 standard requires a self-extinguishment within1 second after the withdrawal of the flame.
